As the lockdown continues with some small easing of restrictions, there are more businesses finding a way to reopen that works for them. We think about our options every day, but the fact is that we are not an essential business and can’t really find a way to become one that works for us. Additionally, we don’t want to be the reason that people travel into the city centre at a time when public transport capacity is at a minimum.

For these reasons and more, the teahouse will remain closed for the foreseeable future - which at the moment looks like the beginning of July. We miss the teahouse, and we miss the familiar faces, but we don’t want to be selfish. Every number on the daily death toll is a life and we won’t forget or minimise that.
