An extremely rare opportunity to taste the full mark gyokuro winner by Yamashita Shinki from 2022’s chahinpyoukai (National Tea Competition). 12 seats in total. Our guests will be using the chasara made by Yamamoto Genta for this tasting. Our guests will also be tasting two other teas from Kyoto prefecture, including matcha (single cultivar Asahi by the legendary Tsuji Kiyoharu) and houjicha by Ryuoen Chaho - a very old tea house established in 1875.

With the best Japanese tea, it is only fair if we serve the best wagashi - honwarabimochi - at this event. While this is our summer wagashi served at the teahouse everywhere and while we also believe we are the only one in the UK that serves this wagashi, this time we are serving it freshly made in front of you (still warm), along with another wagashi (tbc).
