Cha-ology x Rogue Artisan Ice Cream - Matcha Ice Cream
Behind the scenes & what to expect:
At the start of the 2023 we began this project with Ruben from Rogue Ice Cream, intending to create a top tier Matcha (and eventually Houjicha) ice cream - something that really hits the spot for people familiar with matcha sweets who are looking for the ultimate combination of flavour and texture. Anyone familiar with Ruben’s ice cream will know that it’s the best around and we are honoured that he has been able to spend so much time testing and perfecting this matcha ice cream for us. Using stone ground matcha from Yame means ice cream gives off a mouth watering, nutty aroma with a rich, savoury taste and a smooth, gentle bitterness. One thing we have tasked ourselves with recently is to show the world that there is such a thing as an enjoyable bitterness - high quality teas can have smooth, round bitterness that compliments the flavour profile, not a spiky, nasty, lingering bitterness that exists in so many matcha sweets out there. Ruben himself has expressed to us how much he has grown to love matcha as a flavour which we loved to hear! After half a year of experiments, we are sure that this ice cream is the best around, and want to thank all of our regular guests and supporters who have been with us throughout this journey.
Collection date:
The flavour and aroma will be best on the day of collection, so we encourage everyone to taste the ice cream straight away. The recommended use by date will be four months from churning, but enjoying sooner is always better!
Ingredients and Allergens:
Milk, cream, eggs, skim milk powder, sucrose, dextrose, xantham gun (helps maintain the best texture for longer!), matcha.
Contains dairy and eggs (vegetarian friendly). The ice cream is prepared in a kitchen that handles gluten, peanuts, sesame, tree nuts, and soy. Please ask us if you need further information about the allergens.
